Progess: One of my favourite quotes

"Progress depends upon what we are, rather than upon what we may encounter. One man is stopped by a sapling lying across the road; another, passing that way, picks up the hindrance and converts it into a help in crossing the brook just ahead. We are too apt to think that our progress in a given case will depend solely upon the obstacles we may run against. It is more likely to depend upon what runs against the obstacles"

The Coffee

Hi all,

I know it's been a while. I promise to update as soon as possible. But while things are still being planned i want you to think about this story below, it was forwarded to me by a friend and i thought it would be good to share with you all:

THE COFFEE......

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar ... and the coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was fu...
ll. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "Yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, " I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions--things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your wife/husband/kids out to dinner. Maybe even play another 18. There's always time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

From me to you (In loving memory of you part 2)

It has been 2 years since I lost a loved one but you know that feeling when all of a sudden it hits you that today is the 2nd yr anniversary of their glorious passing....well yes today happens to be that day.....it's still hard but with time it should pass but on his passing I promised him that every year till his 10th anniversary I'd write a poem/letter to him. So here  it goes:

You are still in my dreams
You made my world so perfect
I wish I could let go
But I keep holding on
I keep standing at the door
Hoping you'd walk right back in
I still can't believe it's over
I still can't get my head around the fact that you're really gone
No matter what I do
I just can't let go
It's killing me
I cannot say bye bye
In my heart you'll always live
In my dreams my world would always remain perfect
I'm glad you were a part of my life
Your life has inspired me to become a better person
To rise above every human expectations
But succeed by focusing on God
I will forever keep you in my memory
Though you cannot hear me
I am at peace knowing that you're at peace
To you forever
From me to you
