Reaching Your Place of Destiny Part 2

Hi guys and ladies (not to miss you out), I’m glad to be back working on this article (it's been a long overdue while i know).

This article will touch on how the Fruit of the Spirit can help you attain levels you never thought possible.

See the first article here how-to-become-who-god-destined-you-to

So you've discovered your predominant temperament and you’re asking: “is that why I've been unable to do this and that”? , well here’s how the Holy Spirit can help us overcome all of our weaknesses. We must activate our own spirit to \connect with that of God (Romans 8: 16… The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children”).

Galatians 5: 22 – 23a……“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control”:

1. Love – if you are a Choleric like Apostle Paul then you probably have a revengeful spirit (he was angry with the followers of Christ and had initially sought to murder them all), but because he listened to the voice of God while on the way to Damascus and the Holy Spirit speaking through Ananias was able to convert Apostle Paul to a bold and loving follower of Christ and other disciples (Romans 9 vs 1 and 20 – 21). You’ll find that if you let the Spirit work on you the way He did with Paul, you’ll become a self – sacrificing person like Moses, who would go to any lengths to love others and in turn others will be there for you in your time of need (people like Silas and Barnabas followed Paul on his missionary journey and with their help, Paul was able to become one of the greatest and well known follower of Christ).

2. Joy – Some MelChols and Sanguines tend to lack this, probably because they suffer from pessimism, paranoia and fear. Due to this you’ll notice that a lot of people like this, e.g. Moses and Peter initially shy away from taking responsibility for anything in life but as soon as you discover that “the joy of the Lord is your strength” and as soon as you let the Spirit in you’ll become bold, brave as a LION, you’ll have inner joy which will lead straight to peace so that the fear of the unknown and of what people will say or think of you no longer matters.  You’ll find that you begin to succeed and breakthrough challenges right left and centre.

3. Peace – let’s talk about a very faithful ‘friend of God’ in the bible who had this attribute. Abraham had the Phlegmatic temperament, he was easy going and calm. He listened to the voice/Spirit of God and with that level of faith he was able to surrender and trust that God will do as He had promised and due to this Abraham did not miss one single blessing God promised him. I believe that people with other temperaments lack this inner peace most especially MelChols who can be uneasy (i.e.Moses) in times of trials and difficulties and because of this weakness have missed blessings and breakthroughs, how should you learn to become a better person, by totally relying on God….John 14:27: peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you:  not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. So “SURRENDER”.

4. Patience - as a child of God it is very crucial to have the spirit of patience, because trust me nothing good comes easy in this life, so you have to learn to pray, watch and wait. If you notice people who have the Sanguine and Phlegmatic temperaments tend to be very patient. Let's take Abraham for example, he prayed to God, was obedient (in the case of God asking him to sacrifice his son of promise), listened, waited and watched as God unveiled His promises. Another situation where Abraham exhibited the spirit of patience was when his nephew Lot (his herdsmen) fought Abraham over his properties, Abraham patiently allowed Lot choose first (Lot eventually chose what appeared to wealthiest area of the land, a place which ended up to become Sodom and Gomorrah and was eventually destroyed by fire)........Gen 13:8 So Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not have any quarrelling between you and me, or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives''.
Most of the time it's better to be patient and await God's blessing and we'll discover that when the designated season of destiny change comes, we'll be blessed beyond belief (Abraham waited patiently on the Lord for the birth of Isaac and through him Abraham was promised all the descendants like stars in the sky).

5. Kindness - again Sanguines and Phlegmatics are very good at this, the Bible says it's better to give than to receive. Take the Widow of Zarephath, who gave her last piece of food to the man of God and in turn she was blessed with an overflowing and outpouring source of oil (1Kings17:7-16). Therefore no matter what temperament you fit into you are capable of this, it's only when we are able to do this selflessly can God bless even more, just check out Joel 2:25.

6. Goodness- this is the grace and ability to continue to do what is right and acceptable in the sight of God and not man.

7. Faithfulness – Sanguine and Phlegmatic are very good at this, Apostle Peter for example he was faithful in all things that was given to him (minus that one time he denied Christ thrice), he was anointed by the Holy Spirit and went everywhere he was led (it got to a point where his shadow was healing people without him having to even lay hands on them, Abraham is also a very faithful person and that's why he was known as "the friend of God" and so was Noah. Do you want to get to that place of destiny where you become untouchable and unmovable then REMAIN FAITHFUL, because 2 Timothy 2:13 says.....".If we are faithless, He remains faithful".

8. Gentleness- ".....only the meek can inherit the earth" Matt.5:5. Have you ever noticed that it's most people that have the Melchol temperament that seem to always be the high achievers in life because they are assertive and tend to be aggressive, this is not always the case as this is the "world's" perception of what a perfect person should be. It's important to stress that this is not always the case because we need to know that the meek are highly favoured, why?. Well simply put they shall inherit the earth, to meek means to exhibit a form of humility, this is not a weakness but strength and in due course God will exalt you (1 Pet5 :6). Examples of those who overcame the world by being meek are Saul, Moses, Jesus.

9. Self control- it's always best that no matter the temperament you fit into, you should  exhibit self control. You should avoid self gratification and allow God's blessings upon your life speak for you, with this you'll go far. The Lord Jesus is a very good example of a person who had great self control, He was able to resist the devil (temptation) and God exalted him.

At the end of the day, we are all God's work in progress and His grace shall continue to be sufficient for us.
